The Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University is located in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania and has been around since 1919, giving its first Doctor of Optometry degree in 1923. The college of optometry offers students training through clinical rotations through The Eye Institute (TIE) or other facilities, an 18 month externship program, and optometry residency programs in primary care, low vision rehabilitation, and cornea and specialty contact lens. The college also offers several International Optometry Programs.

Education Requirements
The Pennsylvania College of Optometry does not require applicants to have a Bachelors degree, but does require them to have at least 90 semester credit hours from an accredited undergraduate college or university, with mandatory pre-optometry courses that must be taken and passed with a grade of 2.5 or C+ or better. These courses include Biology, Organic Chemistry, Calculus, General Physics, Statistics, and several others.
