Residency Description:

This is a one year advanced training program designed to enhance the resident's clinical skills and understanding in contact lens application, lens design, and patient management. The primary emphasis is on clinical care of complicated contact lens patients including keratoconus, post surgical patients, presbyopia, high astigmatism, pediatrics, and patients requiring prosthetic lenses. The program also includes extensive therapeutic experience through the emergency on call service and interaction with ophthalmological subspecialists within the UEI Medical Service and at off campus medical offices and co-management surgical centers. In addition, teaching experiences in clinical as well as seminar, lecture, and laboratory formats will be provided.
