Residency Description:

This Primary Eye Care/Geriatric Optometry Residency is a one year post-doctoral training program sponsored by the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in Spokane, Washington. Pacific University College of Optometry is the educational affiliate, and the Spokane Eye Clinic is the clinical affiliate. The fundamental mission of this program is to provide qualified post-doctoral practitioners with a structured educational experience that will expand their development into exceptional optometric clinicians in the areas of primary care, geriatrics, and ocular disease. Upon completion of the residency, the clinician will emerge with enhanced clinical skills, knowledge and experience. This elevates the resident beyond entry level practice, and makes them a suitable candidate for optometric positions in co-management and/ or multidisciplinary settings.
