Residency Description:

This program provides advanced clinical experience with patients having a broad spectrum of disorders of the eye. The emphasis is on medical management of disease and pre- and postoperative care. The resident will interact with specialists in retina, anterior segment, cataract, glaucoma, strabismus and Refractive surgery. A clinical case report suitable for publication in an optometric journal is required for completion of the residency. The resident will participate in clinical teaching of externs and attend clinical rounds at the University of Houston. Residents will also attend resident seminars and continuing education with attendings at Eye Center of Texas.
