Residency Description:

Our 13-months program offers advanced training in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease as well as pre- and post-operative care. Residents also participate in emergency care as part of their on-call duties. This program will prepare residents for careers in consultative referral centers as well as private practice. Didactic training is furnished through attendance of Grand Rounds and Fluorescein Conference with ophthalmology residents and community ophthalmologists as well as continuing education seminars at local optometric associations. Residents are also responsible for writing a publishable quality paper and are encouraged to become active in local politics. The resident is provided an annual salary of $27,000 with a continuing education stipend of $500. Health and liability insurance are also provided.
