Residency Description:
Our internationally recognized three-year residency program has been approved to increase its contingent from three to four residents per year as of July 2008.
For all levels of training (PGY 2-4), residents are assigned to rotations at the University of Louisville Primary Care Eye Clinic at the Kentucky Lions Eye Center, the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and the different subspecialty services at the Kentucky Lions Eye Center – Faculty Private Practice and/or satellite offices. Training is provided by full and part-time faculty of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. They include Cornea-External Disease, Uveitis, Contact Lenses, Low Vision, Glaucoma, Oculoplastics and Orbital Reconstruction, Ophthalmic Pathology, Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, Medical Retina and Vitreo-Retinal Surgery, Refractive Surgery and Neuro-ophthalmology.
