Our residency training program is at the core of our mission. In addition to residency training, we are proud of our service to the community, as is exemplified by our association with the Lions Clubs of Long Island and Queens as well as The Lions Eye Bank for Long Island at North Shore University Hospital. We also are committed to the education of our physicians through our Regularly Scheduled Conference Program (formerly called "Grand Rounds,") that also includes numerous Visiting Professorships from nationally and internationally recognized leaders in Ophthalmology. The Department members are active in clinical and laboratory research. Our Program will continue to be in the vanguard of surgical education by the recent acquisition of the VR-magic EyeSi simulator for incorporation into surgical education. This simulator will be housed at the Health System's Bioskills Education Center.
