Residency Description:

In the department of Ophthalmology, resident education is the highest priority. Our faculty members work closely with the resident and share with them their clinical experience and knowledge. With the heavy patient load we handle, the faculty believes that the best care occurs when every single resident is as knowledgeable and competent as possible. The residents are encouraged to research the literature for additional information as part of their patient management and education. To assist in this effort, the department maintains a library with classic and current ophthalmic literature in the Eye Clinic. The department also supports the residents' participation in the Home Study Course sponsored by the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
