The residency program in ophthalmology at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center offers a comprehensive ophthalmologic training experience. The program is based in the Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute which since its founding in 1933 has been a leader in ophthalmology research, treatment and education. The Harkness Eye Institute remains the only academically based eye hospital in New York City.
