Fellowship Description:

The program consists of significant time devoted to both clinical care and research. Three half-days each week are spent in the Preceptors' clinics, which focus on both anterior and posterior segment inflammatory diseases. Research opportunities exist within the department in the areas of molecular biology and immunology. The fellow chooses the laboratory in which to work, with research to continue throughout the two years of the fellowship. There is an opportunity to participate in courses through the Graduate Division of Biology and Biochemical Sciences. This includes courses in immunology and molecular biology. The goal of our fellowship it to train clinician-scientists who will be able to enter academic positions as uveitis specialists, with the ability to do basic research. This program requires a 'Restrictive Covenant' limiting the geographic options for future practice.
