Fellowship Description:

The Oculofacial and Orbital Surgery service offers a fellowship that has been approved by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS); one fellow is chosen for each two-year period.

The fellowship involves patient care and surgery at the Scheie Eye Institute, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP), and the Philadelphia Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC). Current responsibilities include two days per week evaluating patients in the clinic, two days per week performing surgery, and one day per week at the VAMC, alternating between clinical evaluations and surgery. Multiple minor procedures also are scheduled during clinic hours, and the fellow has the opportunity to work autonomously during a scheduled minor procedure clinic.
