Fellowship Description:
The fellowship program has been designed to underline the firm belief that fellows trained in this subspecialty should become well versed in all the major diagnostic and therapeutic techniques of medical and surgical vitreoretinal disease.
The intensive two year program provides extensive training in all areas of medical and surgical vitreoretinal disease. The diagnostic modalities of fundus biomicroscopy, indirect ophthalmoscopy, fluorescein angiography, indocyanine green angiography, OCT imaging, clinical diagnostic electrophysiology, visual psychophysics, and echography are used extensively. Therapeutic techniques of cryotherapy, scleral buckling, vitreoretinal surgery, and argon/krypton/diode laser photocoagulation are emphasized. During the training program, the fellow works closely with each member of the Vitreoretinal Section.
