Orbital and Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery Fellowship
Coordinator:
Fellowship Description: he program provides a comprehensive experience in all areas of oculoplastic and orbital surgery. The medical center is a Level I Trauma Center, providing broad exposure to periocular injuries, both isolated and contiguous with more extensive craniofacial injuries. A wide variety of pathological conditions are encountered. These include orbital tumors, orbital inflammatory disease, Graves' orbitopathy, eyelid tumors, congenital anomalies, and reconstructive and cosmetic eyelid surgery. There is a large volume of periocular reconstruction, which reflects a strong working relationship with Mohs dermatologic surgery. There is also close collaboration with other surgical specialties in frequent multidisciplinary cases. The second year of the Fellowship includes formal rotations in related disciplines, including Craniofacial Surgery, Maxillofacial Surgery, Otolaryngology, Neuroradiology, Surgical Pathology, Mohs Surgery and Ocular Prosthetics. Block time is also provided for preparation of the ASOPRS Thesis. |
