Kellogg Eye Center Cornea Fellowship
Coordinator:
Fellowship Description: The Cornea Service at the University of Michigan is a consulting service in corneal and external disease and refractive surgery with an emphasis on keratoplasty. It offers two fellowships of one year. Two residents and two fellows are on the Cornea Service at any one time. Approximately 250 keratoplasties and 400 cataract surgeries are performed annually. We currently have a Technolas 217 excimer laser and an Intralase laser and perform LASIK, PRK, intracorneal rings, and conductive keratoplasty. It is anticipated that fellows would assist on 75 to 100 keratoplasties, perform 40 to 60, and participate in a program of laboratory and clinical research. The fellows will also do refractive surgery. The fellows' responsibility is to the Cornea and External Ocular Disease Service, with clinics during all weekdays. |
